Our Prayer and Liturgy
At St Joseph’s, prayer and liturgy are at the heart of everything we do: they bring us together as one family of faith, helping us to live out the Gospel in our daily school life.
-
Monday – We begin the week with a whole school 'Celebration of the Word', reflecting on the message of Sunday's Gospel and thinking about how we can put its message into action. Each week, we leave with a mini mission to put our faith into action.
-
Tuesday – Children lead 'Pupil-prepared prayers' in their classes, giving them the chance to share their own thoughts and reflections with others.
-
Wednesday – We lift our voices in 'Songs of Praise', celebrating God’s love through hymns.
-
Thursday – As a school, we reflect together on our Catholic Schools' Pupil Profile Virtues and Catholic Social Teaching, exploring how we can live with kindness, respect, and love for others.
-
Friday – On alternate weeks, classes gather for Mass with Father Van or Father Dave, followed by a Key Stage Prayers of Thanksgiving assembly on alternate weeks to share our joyful awards .
In addition to these communal gatherings, teachers lead prayer and liturgy sessions within their classrooms each week. Our parish priests celebrate Holy Mass with the school regularly, ensuring the sacramental life of the Church remains at the heart of our community.
