An Introduction to our Faith, Prayer & Liturgy and St Joseph

St Joseph’s is a Catholic school whose central aim is to help children know, love, and serve God and their neighbour. Every aspect of our curriculum—both in content and in approach, especially in the teaching and practice of the Roman Catholic faith—is designed to support this mission.
Our Mission Statement:

To follow in Jesus’ footsteps, caring for each other when we work, play and pray
A Prayer for Saint Joseph

This prayer, which can be seen in our entrance hall, was written by the St Jospeh's House Captains .

Saint Joseph, Jesus' Father on Earth.
Help us to remember the love and grace that you showed in caring for Jesus.
Help us to be more like you and to listen to God's voice.
Saint Joseph, guide us through life and keep us safe.
Thank you for being with us as we work, play and pray.
Amen .

Who Was Saint Joseph?

Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus, is one of the most important figures in the Church. Though the Gospels tell us little about him, his life speaks volumes. Joseph was a man of deep faith, humility, and courage. He trusted God completely, even when things were uncertain, and he always protected and cared for his family.

At St Joseph’s, we look to him as a role model for how we should live:

  • Faithful – Joseph listened to God and followed His will with trust and obedience.

  • Caring – He loved and protected Mary and Jesus, showing us how to put others before ourselves.

  • Hardworking – As a carpenter, Joseph reminds us of the dignity of work and the importance of doing our best.

  • Humble – He lived quietly and simply, teaching us that greatness is found in service, not status.

Saint Joseph’s example inspires us as a school community to follow in Jesus’ footsteps—caring for one another when we work, play, and pray.
